Disease Cohort Study - Taiwan WGS Consortium (TWC)
Working with both academic and industry partners, PDC4PM is facilitating Taiwan WGS Consortium (TWC) – a structure to create comprehensive cohort studies. PDC4PM provides data & IT management support, which helps further expand our data collections, allowing us to meet the high demands of Precision Medicine for Asians.
Data Collection in Taiwan
Taiwan boasts valuable clinical data collections and various notable projects; this provides PDC4PM with a strong foundation for research and development.
HALST (Healthy Aging Longitudinal Study of Taiwan)
- A long-term follow-up cohort aiming at identifying genetic determinants of aging and exploring their correlation with aging in an older Taiwanese population.
- In 2009, HALST recruited 5,000 community-dwellers aged 55+ from 7 areas to represent the socio-demographic diversity of Taiwan.
- NHRI project collection
TPMI (Taiwan Precision Medicine Initiative)
- A joint effort of Academia Sinica and 16 partner hospitals across Taiwan.
- This has obtained the genetic profiles of 500,000 patients from medical centers across Taiwan with the TPM Array.
